Hello dear reader
My name is Lydia Hansen. I have always been an avid reader, a characteristic that I lay solely on my dad’s shoulders. That lovely man has been reading to me for as long as I can remember. He has introduced me to some of the authors that are the bedrock of my reading, J.R.R. Tolkien, Arthur Conan Doyle and Sir Terry Pratchett, to name a few. And there have even been points where he will tell me about what he is reading and I get interested in it later, for example he once told me about a book that he was reading with many points of view that has a man guarding an ice wall with monsters on the other side that most people don’t believe exist, as well as a girl with a sword that she calls “Needle” and practises with it in secret. In case you cannot guess, he was talking about Game of Thrones.
So yeah, from this jumping off point I went on to read, and then I went on to find so many things that I enjoyed reading on my own. When I first decided that I wanted to start a book review blog, I made a list of books that I wanted to talk about. I had a slight problem. You see, all the books I wanted to talk about were from my childhood, and I was worried that I had missed the boat, as most people were reviewing Percy Jackson around when the TV show was coming out. So, I decided to make that the gimmick of the whole blog. Which led to my rules.
1. Every book must be at least 5 years old.
2. Any adaptation must be at least 1 year old.
3. I will not review any musicals unless I can get my hands on a legally filmed copy.
4. I will only spoil the end of a book in that book’s review if either the book is over 5 years old or the book is the end of the series.
5. Adaptations will get spoiled if I want to talk about the ending.
I hope you stick around to see what I have to offer.
Happy reading to all and to all a good night.
